Den Den's Favourites!

Ayden loves playing.. He can run round and round (holding on to our hands) all day long! He also loves swimming, and bicycles! So, we decided to bring him to ECP to cycle, his 1st cycling experience with Daddy & Mummy! Hubbs & I rented a bike each, with hubbs having the honour of riding with Ayden, and me holding on to our backpack. After we buckled Ayden up in his little baby seat behind hubbs in his bike, we started our cycling adventure along ECP! hhmm.. it didn't start very smoothly, as Ayden didn't like the feeling of riding behind Daddy & seeing Mummy riding a different bike beside him. He kept wanting to come over to me & struggled to get out of his seat. After much coaxing, Ayden settled down, hubbs was singing to Ayden as we rode on, and I tried to keep out of Ayden's sight by riding behind hubbs. With the breeze blowing onto his face, and lovely seaview... we thought Ayden was enjoying his ride... Very Quietly... & to our surprise, he had actually fallen asleep along the ride!!! Hahahhaa...he looked so cute! The ride didn't end very smoothly either...as hubbs forgot ayden was fast asleep behind him (with his head & back leaning against the back of the baby seat), hubbs did a swift brake & our little Ayden behind him went *KoK* (bumped his head against hubbs seat due to the impact of the brake). It was another round of crying before we finally headed for dinner.. phew... what a ride! ;p

Ayden's 1st National Day!

First National Day for Ayden, First time wearing Red Top & White Pants for the whole family! It was quite a cute idea that hubby suggested, to wear red & white together, in celebration of Singapore's birthday! We had a good time shopping around Marina Sq & a great buffet dinner @ Conrad Hotel. Ayden did catch some explosive sounds of Fireworks (didn't manage to see as our view was blocked by the buildings around) & he also enjoyed himself messing with the cups and little blocks of butter & jam during the buffet dinner. It was a great 1st National Day Celebration for Ayden! Happy Birthday Singapore!!! :)

Ayden's 1st birthday!

Ayden's turned 1 year old! He's a big boy now! Haha... celebrated his 1st birthday at the Safra Resort Country Club together with many close friends & relatives. It had been great fun & a wonderful gathering for everyone! Checked in to the resort on the 28th Aug, which was a week earlier than Ayden's actual birthday (5th Sept) as the resorts were fully booked on the actual day. 1st, we celebrated Isaac's (Ayden's GodPa cum hubby's gd bro) 30th bday on Fri Night with BBQ dinner plus cake cutting. The guys stayed over with us and of cos, there was a major Mahjong plus DVD screening session. The next morning started with Changi Village breakfast, then a bowling session, followed by swimming... Next up was Ayden's Birthday Celebration! Ordered Buffet & a yummy LANA birthday cake for Ayden... Think everyone enjoyed the pig out session and the catching up! It was an enjoyable 1st birthday for Ayden. A very big Thank You to all who attended the celebration and showered Ayden with the Ang Pows & pressies! Cheers! :)

As for his birthday celebration on the actual day, we rewarded our little darling with a ride up on the Singapore Flyer! The whole family went for the ride up in the sky.. & our darling Ayden here loves being high up in the air... with no signs of fear & hesitation at all.. u should see how he ran about and stuck his face onto the glass capsule... well done, my brave little one! The Day ended with a Seafood dinner @ Jumbo, and Ayden slept half the time we ate.. & the family, including Ayden had a really fun day out!

Ayden's new shoes!

Finally... Ayden got to wear his 1st pair of shoes.. for the 1st time! He kept pulling at his shoes at first, but slowly got used to them after a while. Then, he kept showing off his shoes as he kept touching them to get the attention of the people who looked at him! haha... he looked really really cute in his shoes...with his chubby legs, they looked perfect! so grown up! Mummy loves Ayden's new shoes as much as he does! :p

Ayden's 1st time to a wedding dinner! Uncle Eugene & Auntie Lena got married on the 4th of July! Hubbs & me decided to bring Ayden along for their wedding banquet! Very adventurous... hahaha... We were in a mad rush for time as we prepared Ourselves, plus Ayden for the dinner! Hubbs was supposed to be there earlier to help out with the rehearsals...plus we were waiting for Ayden to wake from his afternoon nap (in case he gets cranky due to the lack of sleep). After which, was lots of changing of clothes, making up, packing of den's stuff, getting the barangs ready.. Finally, we're on our way to the hotel when mummy suddenly realised that she forgot to wear Ayden's socks and shoes for him!?!?!? OMG! after all the hassle... I actually forgot something so important!!! It got me upset for quite a while along the journey :(

But, we're still very excited about the wedding... I think Ayden was too! He was quite cooperative through the Solemnization ceremony.. but got a bit impatient while waiting for the banquet to start.. sitting in his oversized baby chair, hitting on his spoon and bowl that the nice auntie gave him (& changed twice for him as he threw them on the floor). The banquet went on quite ok, as Ayden savoured his cereal, had his diapers changed halfway through plus falling asleep in mummy's arms before the couple's 2nd march-in. So I managed to catch up on the food saved aside for me by hubbs! It was an enjoyable evening all in all.. & I think Ayden did enjoy himself too.. being the only baby among our 2 tables of friends, carried & hugged by all the aunties & uncles. He was all smiles and full of his baby talk! It was also a tiring, but great experience for hubbs & me... both of us couldn't move after we laid down on our bed that night. hahaha...

Ayden loves to read!

Everyday before Ayden's afternoon nap, I try to read with him... not that he understand, but more to start a good routine & cultivate an interest in reading. He loves the session though! Haa.. of course, he normally doesn't have the patience to sit through the whole book with me, but he loevs flipping the book as I read! He loves fiddling with the books and looking through them. I didn't buy many books for him as he doesn't really understand the content yet, and these books are quite pricey too! Those few that I got for him are either those with finger puppet eyes, able to give out some kinda wierd sounds when the buttons are pressed, or feely touchy books where he can feel different textures as the story moves on. They keep him quite entertained... and he loves those books! Hopefully he'll keep up with this good habit of reading & love books as he grows older!

Please Help!

First got to know of this piece of news when the article in The New Paper on Tuesday caught my attention... An article saying that a few of our Former National Football Stars like Fandi Ahmah & Abbas Saad are coming together for a game against our local celebs as a charity drive to raise funds for a 4 year old cancer patient, Charmaine Lim. My reaction then was that it was a really nice act for these former nationals to come together to raise funds for the girl. But it really got to me when I chanced upon this blog site & webpage created for this 4 year old girl, and somehow felt that I've got to just write something about this.. stirred up too much emotions in me. When I read through the words written by Charmaine's mummy.. my heart goes all out to them. Very saddened by all the misery that such a cheerful 4 year old girl has to go through, and is truly touched by the mum's strength to help her daughter. Am also full of admiration for the fighting spirit of Little Charmaine & Mummy Cynthia, and greatly moved by the efforts that their family & friends are making to help them through this ordeal. I am very sure any mummy who've seen their blog will feel the same pain that the mum is feeling for her daughter... and am very sure there are many kind souls out there who are very willing to do what they can to lend a helping hand. Not that my post will create a miracle, but sincerely hope that any help or words of encouragement from any of you reading this will add on to Mummy Cynthia & Little Charmaine's strength to carry on to fight their battle. Praying hard for the little girl & her family to pull through this & win the battle... Jia You!

Finally... Den Den has recovered! After his doses of antibiotics, he's finally much better... not much of runny nose & cough anymore. As for me, fever's gone too!! Yay!! Though still have a bit of cough.. but feeling much much better! Time to catch up on the updates.. though there wasn't much action during the 2 weeks we were down, as we're most of the time resting at home, with only visits to the doc, for both Ayden & me. Here's some pics of Ayden a couple of weeks ago, some of which were taken @ home, some in the car & some at NTUC DownTown East! Will also upload some videos of Den in action too! :)

Sickly Sick!

It's been a horrible week! The flu virus has attacked!! I have been down with Fever, Flu & Cough since last week... Though my flu & cough has gotten better.. Don't know why my fever is still persistent...somemore hovering around 38 degrees. But generally I feel much better after seeing the doc 3 times & taking antibitotics... at least now the body aches and sore throat is gone.. just did a blood test today to find out the reason for the persistent fever...hopefully everything is fine...

My poor Den Den is also sick! He's also down with flu & cough.. had a slight fever at 1st, but recovered from that(thankfully). But his flu and cough was terrible! His runny nose is like a tap..the mucus just keeps coming..plus the nasal sounds he produes when he breathes...so poor thing! He'll also start coughing in the middle of the night when he sleeps... and he'll wake up crying. Sometimes it's so bad he'll cough till he puke... really heartpain to see him like that :( His cough & blocked nose is making him really uncomfy and thus not able to sleep well. It's really heart wrenching to see him like that, especially when his sleep is disrupted and he starts crying... *stab*

But, thankfully his flu and cough are both recovering too... since we took him off air-con last night (as he was continuously coughing for sometime), there has been a significant improvement in his condition. So I'm really glad to see him slowly going back to his smiley, playful self! Hopefully he'll recover completely within the next 2 days...

Of cos, I also hope to fully recover soon...so that I can kiss him, hug him & smell him once more!!! plus I can stop wearing the stupid leychey mask!!!

Ayden Crawling

Ayden, the crawler!

Ayden @ 9 mths old

Ayden's turned 9 mths old! He can crawl real fast now (if he sees something he wants) & can easily pull himself to a standing position once he has support. He's also one little boy with a fiery temper at times... Anything he wants, nobody can stop him, else he'll show you his whining & shouting power! He also started this habit of throwing anything he lays his hands on...and I mean slamming the thing down onto the floor real hard. He will also bite anything he finds interesting to sink his teeth in (that includes my shoulder.. kena 2 times already). So, now the disciplinarian side of me is also emerging... (instinct of a teacher naturally) I tend to be the one scolding him & stopping him from indulging himself most of the time. It seems like this little fella sort of understands when I explain to him after deterring him from his actions.. & at times he actually stop doing them (i.e he doesn't dare bite me anymore, he modified it to licking my shoulder now..haaa) , of course, depending on his mood also. When he's cranky... what can I say.. he's really CRANKY! ;p

Our Day @ the Zoo!

Ayden's 1st trip to the Zoo! Though he can't really understand what's going on with the animals... I think he did enjoy looking at the animals moving around. Along the way, we kept prompting Den Den to look at the animals roaming about in their enclosure... I think he's more interested in observing the people around him. So he was pretty entertained by observing the other onlookers, & throughout the animal show, he was busy admiring this " Cheh Cheh" sitting in her pram parked beside him (well, he's a boy afterall). We enjoyed the tram ride quite a lot too... cos we get to sit & relax while it ride us through zome parts of the Zoo! The Kids World(or whatever the name was, I can't recall...Some Eco** kinda name) was also quite fun as we watched dozens of kids enjoying themselves in the water park ( Ayden will get his chance when he's older ). I even got myself a Ben & Jerry's Cone there!!! It was a pretty hot day, but overall...we had lots of fun! Another nice Sunday out for the family. :)

Family Sunday @ Butterfly Park (Sentosa)

It was sometime ago when Hubbs decided to make Sunday our family day... so every Sunday, we'll bring Ayden to Jalan & explore different places! We wanted to bring Den Den to Discovery Centre for the 1st Sunday...but in the end decided that he's too young to appreciate the exhibits there, so we changed our plan along the way & headed to Butterfly Park @ Sentosa instead (wanted to go during our last Sentosa retreat, but was raining). After the whole trail in the Park.. I can only say: A few of these fluttering butterflies plus some noisy parrots plus some wierd tortoises, & worst of all....fake insects & bugs... for $16 each?!?!? Definitely not a very worthy experience! But Ayden did have his 1st experience of touching a gigantic Monitor lizard there... & luckily, Ayden didn't have to pay for his admission. ;p

Our Sentosa Retreat

Our 1st trip to Sentosa with Ayden! It was a great getaway... Firstly, the prep process & Ayden's barangs were not as scary as those for the Taiwan trip.. Secondly, we didn't have to survive a plane ride this time round...all it took was a car ride that lasted less than an hour, during which Ayden was sleeping.. hee. Had a great weekend stayover at Sentosa Resort & Spa (The used to be Beaufort)...booked a deluxe suite and the room was superb!! It was really a luxurious weekend..relaxing in the room, visiting the tourists' spots in Sentosa, lazing around the island, strolling along the beaches, calling in-room dining (Due to Ayden's early bedtime)....it was simply Shiok! It was rather interesting visiting the Underwaterworld, Images of Singapore & Butterfly Park with Ayden. He didn't really understand what's going on, neither can he really appreciate all the stuff he was seeing... but he was a happy boy just being strolled around, having so many new things to explore and observing the crowd buzzing around him! He did also enjoy rolling on the enormous bed in the room, having so many cushions & pillows piling around him! Ayden also did his very 1st swim in the real pool at the hotel!!! & he really really enjoyed himself a lot! It was a great weekend retreat for Hubbs, me & Ayden.. It feels great to just spend some time together and relax the weekend away! It was so enjoyable that we decided to make this an annual event! Looking forward to our next stay here next year!!! :)

Ayden has 4 teeth now! 2 at the bottom & 2 big ones on top! Because of this, his gums has been itching and he's been proned to biting anything that he lays his hands on! He also likes to grab people's finger and sink his teeth into them... Ouch! It's painful I tell you, cos he totally has no idea what he's chewing on, so he gives it his best when he sinks his teeth in! (Try cleaning his teeth and tongue now!!!) Now that Ayden's bigger, & easier to handle (In the sense of carrying, feeding, sleeping).. I'm trying to learn to bring him out myself... to meet up with friends and get some social life back! Been out a few times to meet up with my sisters for lunch & shopping with Ayden in town.. Thanks to my dearies who helped me jaga him while we were out! It felt great!!! Good to be out again after looking after him for so long (not that I hasn't been stepping out of the house for so long.. I used to bring Ayden out only with hubbs & family), Now, It feels good to bring him out meeting friends, shopping, visiting friends' places etc.. Though it's tiring...It's really a good start for me to learn to bring him out alone!

wahaaa... yes... It's been ages since I've touched this blog... haaa... it's been really busy busy with Ayden growing up so fast and so many things happening everyday!!! Been busy chasing after Ayden & disciplining him everyday... had also been busy preparing a nice gift and sent off Sis Nee who's flown to London to pursue her dream! Life's pretty much still the same for me... Just that Ayden's able to crawl very well now...and very fast too.. In a flash, he'll be under the table, behing the sofa, next to the fan.... how not to be busy!?!?! He's also able to hang on to the edge of things and pull himself up! So he's kept very busy everyday trying out all his new stunts... crawl here, climb there... all the time!!!

Ayden's also able to call both "PaPa" & "MaMa" now!!! Haaa... and he does it in a very cute way...he'll sometimes do it loudly...sometimes softly...sometimes continuously "PaPaPaPaPaPa" and sometimes with a "Ah" in front.. "Ah Pa Ah Pa Ah Pa" ... It's really sweet to hear him call us though! He's also got his own temper now... Whenever he doesn't get things his way..he'll resort to shouting, whining, screaming, crying, practically anything.. to get what he wants! So I'm trying very hard to start discipling him & setting the ground rules... I seriously think if we want discipline...it should start now. Hee, but it's tough...especially when they glare at you with their teary eyes...den give you one innocently sad look that melts you right in the heart.

It's a really fun stage now for Ayden...he enjoys going out, meeting people, playing with his kor kors & cheh chehs, blabbering his language & entertaining himself with any new stuff he discovers! He's also a cheerful boy full of smiles everyday! So, it's really a joy looking after him now... just that with this active little darling.. I end my day with new "Orh Cheh" (blueblacks) & backaches every night... I need a thorough massage!!!

More Taiwan photos

Back from Taiwan... Again!

Yes...we went to Taiwan again! This time round with Ayden somemore!!! Hubbs had to go Taipei for work..thus we brought Ayden along, together with MIL & Aunt. Stayed in Taipei thru the whole trip as it was quite tough bringing Ayden too far out. We were quite worried bout him taking the plane at 1st, but luckily the ride turned out fine as he was sleeping thru the journey most of the time, had him drinking his milk and suckling on his pacifier during the take off & landing, thus it turned out quite alright for him. Thank god we brought his pram along to Taipei, cos it was raining thru the trip, he was quite nicely sheltered in his pram, with the rain cover on, and was quite cosy, snuggled up in his jacket and blanket. The roads were also quite rough, plus we're not near any train stations, so the pram served us well. The only rough patch was when Ayden caught a cold, partly because the weather there was wet & cold, plus the air-con in our hotel room was terribly cold!!! He had running nose & we had to send him to a local doc there. 1st time he had to take medicine in the powder form (like Ma Guang). Luckily he got better and was not feeling that bad. In the end, I guess little Ayden is the one that enjoyed the trip the most. He was smiling, chuckling and shouting all the time we went out. Think he enjoyed his stay in the hotel room too, particularly his bath time, as the hotel provided us with a little tub that he can sit nicely inside. It was not an easy trip... with all the prep, washing, sterilising, cleaning for Ayden's stuff. Plus, taking care of him while we're out. It was an experience for us tho. Guess the next time he's travelling will be when he can walk and run about himself... Phew!

@ 6 mths old..

1.) Ayden can already do his flips within seconds... left flip, right flip, turn here, flip there, roll over

2.) Ayden has grown his 1st little tooth! not totally out yet..but can see a little white piece in his gum

3.) Ayden knows how to call "Pa Pa" ( of cos, credits to Mummy! for training him)

4.) Ayden started on his rice cereal already, & is definitely enjoying it!!!

5.) Ayden 's starting to get cheeky, knows when to reject and when he don't want it...he seriously means "NO"...tough...

This boy's getting more and more active, more interactive as well..it's getting harder to control him too... he simply likes to play, refuses to take his naps at times and it's an impossible task to change his diapers & clothes now!!!! But he's also getting more fun to be with now.. likes to talk, his language which no one understands yet. Wanted to post up his videos, but the files are too big to be posted...so just enjoy the photos instead! ;)

This video was taken a few weeks ago, when Ayden is still learning how to flip.. he looked quite amusing.. trying to flip over..but not quite there yet. Now, He can flip over in a second and can flip both directions somemore!! Haha... will post his successful flipping video again...

Ayden @ 5 months old

Ayden's 5 months old today! And I know I have been lagging in posting his photos up & blogging his updates... but I'm sooo busy looking after him.. I only have free time when he's sleeping... & when he's sleeping.. I'll feel sooo tired that I have to rest...so.. can't blog often! hahaaa.. ok ok... plus a little bit of laziness.. in turning on the laptop, logging in, typing and posting photos.. so pls forgive me if my blogs get updated in chunks..ok!? Anyway... 5 mths have passed... I'm really glad.. haha...Ayden's again getting more active, more playful...dun like to sleep.. haiyoh.. now u know why I am kept busy! His weight is also steadily increasing with his age...so it's quite a challenge to carry him already..not to say in the months to come! But it's really great to see him start responding more... and the amazing thing about babies is that everything about them changes everyday! His laughter changes, the way he talks changes, the way he looks at you changes, his habits changes... which is why I hope to stay home and witness all these changes as he grows... I can't bear to miss out on all these precious moments...

Ayden's 1st Lunar New Year!

Hooray!!! Ayden's 1st Lunar New Year... Meaning.. His 1st time collecting CNY Ang Pows!!! We are excited for him!!! hahaha..... Think he himself is excited... He seems to be in a festive mood early in the morning on the 1st day of CNY! Guess he realised he's dressed in new clothes...somemore bright red in colour! He's in a very chirpy mood as we set off to different places to do CNY visiting... This is also the 1st time that many relatives are seeing him... of cos... the most commonly heard comment: Aiyo!!! He's sooo BIG already!!! hahaha...of cos apart from praises saying he's so cute, so yandao etc etc la... Can see that he really enjyed himself during the few days of CNY visiting... apart from getting a lot of attention from all the Aunties, Uncles, Ah Gongs, Ah Mas, Kor Kors & Cheh Chehs... He also collected quite a bundle of Ang Pows! Wooo... Not a bad start!!! wahaha.... Of cos, the $ is going into Ayden's savings account la... we're not that kind of parents ok (aiyoh..Ayden still small lah, we keep for him 1st lah..) .. hiak. Next CNY, Ayden should be up and running all around...& we will of course be running around too...chasing him... or rather....finding him?? ;p

Blow Wind Blow!!!

Ayden boy simply loves the wind blowing into his face... he'll get very "high" and start screaming and blowing saliva bubbles with his mouth.. So whenever we carry him near a fan..he'll start to get very excited. We were on our way to fetch MIL this day when we stop by the reservoir for a breather... & for Ayden to enjoy the big big wind blowing there.. He simply loved it! So, to prevent him from getting overly HIGH..We covered his body, plus around his head with a blanket, hoping to block off some of the wind. Though we only stayed there for bout 15 mins, it was quite enjoyable! The wind was good, the view was good and we took some fun family "Big Head" shots as well...something we hasn't done in quite a while! Haa...love the photos cos Ayden actually cooperated by looking into the camera when we took the shots! He looked really cute with his blur little face! The reservoir brought back many good memories as well...it was a "pak tor" place that hubby & me frequented last time... & now..We're back with our son!!! How time flies!

Little Ayden @ TCC

Met up with my sisters (Ayden's Godmas) on the last day of Yr 2008 @ Novena TCC for lunch... & of cos little Ayden came along too! While the gang was busy eating & chatting along, he was quietly entertaining himself in his pram at first... till he started getting a bit bored & restless...that's when the crankiness starts to set in.. & what's gonna happen next?? It's Daddy & Mummy, plus Godmas taking turns to carry him, entertain him, walk him around, and keep him happy!! Haha... we just don't want his ear piercing screams to disturb the peaceful ambience at the cafe. After we're all done with the carrying, comes the next step..Daddy & Mummy taking turns to stroll him around Novena Square & trying to make him fall asleep (While the other continue eating). But this little fella here is quite cute... he tends to drift into sleep pretty fast when he's strolled around in his pram..or when he's travelling in Daddy's car, I guess he just likes to be in a moving vehicle (just like Daddy when he was young... OMG!). In the end, this little chubbs did fall asleep in his little pram...and he slept pretty soundly too... cute. It was an enjoyable get together before the end of the year... another great outing with the sisters! Special thanks to Godma Nee too... for always remembering to bring along her precious cam and snapping a few good shots along the gathering. These cute moments were captured by her and I really really love these shots a lot! Thanks sister! :)

Ayden is 4 months old!

My little chubbs just turned 4 months old... weighing 7.73kg, measuring 64.5cm long! His arms and legs are looking quite chunky already...with muscles bulging from within.. credits to his active routine of flinging his arms & kicking his legs everyday. I'm also starting to be able to fit into my former clothes before my pregnancy, thanks to carrying this human weight of nearly 8kg everyday...It's tough not to lose weight! At this stage, Ayden no longer likes to lie properly on the bed or rocker chair... this curious little boy likes to be carried around all the time...looking at things around him. So you will see our family members taking turns walking him around the whole house & going downstairs for walks. This boy here is a charmer with his smiley character and his cheeky expressions.. He's one friendly baby who likes to interact and smile at anyone he meets! Now, he has new hobbies to go with his normal routine of drink & sleep... he likes to do the "Boo Boo" Saliva stunt, plus the "Cover blanket over head & panic" game! Haahaa... It can be quite funny seeing him indulge himself in his little games and laughing himself away... I guess every baby has their own form of self-entertainment. Ayden's now trying to flip over on his own... not quite there yet..but he can already turn his body fully to the side...I guess the only hindrance (From what I see) is his chunky hand...that refuses to give way under his body. Give him a couple of weeks, I think his new entertainment will be doing the self flip all day long.. That's when mummy will start getting a headache & will have to watch him closely all the time he's on the bed! It's been 4 months since I have been taking care of Ayden at home.. & my maternity leave is depleted... haaa.... now starting my No Pay Leave...so I'm officially on ZERO income now! But then again... I feel so much richer when I get to witness so many of Ayden's "Firsts".. Just wanna see him grow up a lil more... before I hit back to work full force again. Now I'm looking forward to seeing Ayden start his first feed of solid food...seeing him grow his 1st lil tooth... Seeing him utter his 1st word... Seeing him take his 1st step... There are just too many things about his growing up to look forward to... & of cos... the biggest wish of all... that he'll grow healthy & happy...& most importantly...be a good, obedient boy!

Just realised it's been ages since I updated this blog! Just got back from a getaway trip to Taiwan... Feel so rejuvenated! It's been a long time since we really had a good night's sleep... & we got to wake up late during the trip (Thanks to my parents-in-law who took care of Ayden during our absence)!! Hehe... but poor "Ah Gong" & "Ah Mah" had a few sleepless nights these few days! It's been a great trip.... ate lots of food, bought lots of goodies, tried riding a scooter, even got interviewed on one Taiwan show! Haa... Fun! But I missed my boy so so much!!! Me & hubby kept looking thru Ayden's photos in our handphones everyday (As we walk, before we sleep at night, when we're on the bus....) !! I even dreamt of Ayden a few times! Really missed his smiles, his voice, his smell, & his cutie pie face! So, we're really glad to be back home, to be beside Ayden again, to be able to carry him and hug him again! Can't be away from him for too long! I guess Ayden's in for our next trip, no matter what! ;p

Ayden's 3 months old now... and his neck and limbs are getting stronger.. & he's growing taller too! He's now 61cm and weighing a 7.5kg! hehe... my chubby little darling! Daddy & Mummy loves bringing him out....becos he enjoys going out! He's one curious little boy who'll look all around when he's out in his pram....but not for too long...cos he tends to drift off into sleep quite fast when he's in his cosy little pram... haha...so I guess it's a lucky thing too, cos he's considered well-behaved when he goes out 'kai kai', I mean, he can't do much when he's sleeping most of the time right... hiak ;p

Daddy & Mummy is looking forward to hearing Ayden utter his 1st word, looking forward to seeing him take his 1st step... I'm really thankful to be able to take care of him everyday, so that I'll be there to witness his growing milestones! To all mummies out there... It's really wonderful being a mum...tiring..but fulfilling! Hope all of u are enjoying ur motherhood as well!

Here's Ayden trying to talk to us... usually after his feed...when he's in real good mood.. He's really a cheeky fellow at times...and you can see him moving his mouth and forming funny shapes with it. One of his favourites will be when hubbs recites the "Humpty Dumpty" Nursery rhyme for him.. Ayden will always attempt to say along with him! Hahaha.... he looks really cute when he gets all excited and hyped up to talk! Judging from his enthusiasm in making sounds and talking to us... I guess he's gonna turn into one eloquent lil fellow not long down the road... Haha...can't wait to hear him call me "Mummy"!

We're back with our blog!!!After the few weeks of lag, we're finally back with updates for our blog! (using the new Canon Ixus camera I bought!)...& now..Ayden's already 10 weeks old! Watching him grow and witnessing his milestones of growing up, presenting us with new surprises each time have been the best part of my maternity leave at home! Not only has Ayden grown physically in size, he is also progressing well intellectually! Slowly over time, we can already see his playfulness as he responds to us when we call out to him, play with him, sing to him, and humour him with different facial expressions. At this stage, we're also quite pleasantly surprised that he's picking things up quite quickly! Just the other day, Bro-in-law was playing with Ayden, and he somehow stuck his tongue out at Ayden to humour him..just this once..& before you know it, Ayden was imitating him with his tongue shooting in & out of his little mouth!! Hahaha....though it's not a desirable act, he simply looked so cute when he's doing it! He's quite an inquisitive lil boy, simply loves to look around, observe people and try to pick up new things. You will never expect when he'll pop up another surprise action for you! It's just so fun trying to make him smile interacting with him!

I'm a Daddy's boy!

Coming to 2 months old in 1 more week, Ayden is starting to be able to respond when we interact & play with him! The best times to play with him will be after his morning bath (which he simply enjoys), after he drank his fill & after he had enough of his nap! You will see everyone in the house fighting to get their slots of playtime with Ayden, & each of us trying our best to make all sorts of funny faces and weird sounds just to win a smile from Ayden! He's such a cute darling when he smiles at you...& it's really so wonderful to just hear him talk to you in his baby language ( oo....ee...ahhh..ahh..). It's getting more & more fun looking after him as he seems to know what's going on around him, plus he's getting smarter & knows how to react ( be it whine, cry, scream) to get what he wants..
Ayden's a Daddy's boy... He loves lying on his Daddy's lap while Daddy play with him. Hubby is one crazy fellow when it comes to playing with little fellow..he'll try all sorts of funny ideas and Ayden will just smile & smile & talk to Daddy while he plays with him. Daddy sure has his ways of making little Ayden happy! Mummy's always complaining that Ayden doesn't respond as much as he does with Daddy, although Mummy feeds him, change him & takes care of him!! But little Ayden's simply a Daddy's boy... Hopefully he'll grow up as cheerful as his Daddy & be a little sunshine that brightens up everyone's days... ;P

Ayden goes swimming!

We brought Ayden to this shop @ Plaza Singapura that put babies swimming in tubs, with floats on thier neck.. & these babies are left to flap and kick in the tub freely! It is Ayden's 1st time going to swim. He looked so blur when we changed him & the auntie attach the float onto his neck before putting him down into the tub. When he was lowered into the tub of water, he seemed a little lost at first...remaining still and floating quietly in the water. After a little warming up & talking to him, he started swimming!!! Hahaa... He looked so cute when he flapped his hands and kicked his legs with all his might in the water! He even turned a few rounds and swam along the whole tub! Seems like Ayden enjoyed his 1st swimming experience a lot! We'll be bringing him for more sessions in future! It's great exercise and work out for this little chap.

Ayden is 6 weeks old!

Ayden is already 6 weeks old! Time flies... a few weeks ago, he was still swaddled up, crying in the delivery ward.. now he's grown so much bigger... & brighter! He's the little darling of the family... getting all the love from his Daddy, Mummy, Uncles & Aunties, Ah Gong & Ah Ma, Gong Gong & Po Po! After these few weks of living with the little darling, everyone at home is used to a lifestyle with a lil one in the house.. You'll see everyone lowering their volume while talking, remembering not to on the TV too loud, making sure doors don't slam suddenly..etc etc... At the same time, we're also used to hearing his whines & crying in the house when his tantrum comes (regardless of time 24/7) ;p It's hard work looking after a lil one, but of course, the joy that we get from this addition to the family is much much more! Just a simple smile from this little chap will brighten up everyone's day!

Statistics

I am 5 weeks old now! :)

At 5 weeks old, Ayden now weighs 5.24kg & measures 57.5cm long! My my... either Mummy's milk is very nutritious or Ayden's stretching exercises have proven very effective! Haha... asked our gynae about this stats & whether Ayden is erm...Overweight?!?! But reassurance from gynae saying he's just "at the top of the scale".. haha... sounds better indeed...at least I know Ayden is growing well...& fast! He's quite strong for his age I must say... his arms & legs are strong...cos his power kicks and fists during his feeds have proven so.. it's a challenge trying to burp him in the middle of his milk feast I tell you! His neck muscles are pretty strong too.. at 1 month old, he can actually hold his head upright quite steadily when I burp him on my shoulder. It's comforting to see him grow stronger & bigger each day.. Just hope his colic gets better.. It's heart wrenching to see him cry in discomfort whenever his colic attacks him... Colic drops seem to help a lil so far..but hopefully his colic attacks reduces gradually & he'll grow out of it fast. Going into Week 6..Ayden is slowly learning to respond to people..& he simply likes to listen to people talk while he look into ur face..sometimes adding a smile or two on his face! He's more curious about what's happening around him & is often observing his surrounding. Slowly he'll be able to interact more with us with more of his baby languages " Ooo Ahh Eeh...".. ! This growth process is gonna go by very fast..so Daddy & Mummy's trying to enjoy every moment with him...& of course savouring every minute we spent with him!

Ayden is 1 Month Old!

Busy Busy Busy!!! Been kept real busy by my little prince Ayden! Reason for the delay in updating our blog! Finally....Ayden is 1 month old! Confinement is over!!!!! Woo Hoo! Good thing is... no more ginger dishes (yucky!).. No more herbal baths.. No more naggy confinement lady! Downside is... No more confinement help..now I've to take care of everything for my little ayden! From feeding him to changing his diapers.. to bathing & burping him...etc.. Now I know, waking up a few times in the middle of the night to feed, change diaper, carry & comfort little Ayden is no joke.. cos it continues into the day..and the cycle repeats everyday! Meaning there's no real rest for the coming couple of months at least! Luckily Hubby has been taking night shifts in helping to take care of Ayden at night.. especially when Ayden doesn't sleep well and needs lots of comforting and patting at night... now we're the panda couple..with the lack of sleep every night. But though it's tough...ultimately I wanna say "It's worth it!" .. for our little Ayden! Seeing him grow bigger each day just gives me the satisfaction of being a mummy...I'm sure for Daddy too! All we want for our boy is to see him grow healthy & happy day by day! Now Ayden's a month old...slowly he'll be 3 months...6 mths...1 yr old...! Both Daddy & Mummy is looking forward to seeing him grow & slowly be able to respond & play with us! We have so many places & activities that we want to invlove him in when he grows a lil older!

I'm not sleepy yet...

It's really a challenge to keep Ayden happy & occupied now since he's awake for a longer period of time. It's not an easy task to balance between carrying him and letting him play on his own. On one hand, we don't want him to feel lonely or neglected for too long, on the other, we definitely don't wanna spoil him by responding to his demand & carrying him whenever he cries for attention. It'a sooo difficult!! Here's a short clip of him lying quietly and playing by himself.. which I hope to train him to do more often!

As compared to the little tot when Ayden was just born, he's really grown quite a bit! He looks much taller now.. and of course more chubby! Even his little hands & feet have grown bigger! Haha... it's really fulfilling to see him grow bit by bit bigger everyday. As he gets bigger, it's also harder to make him fall asleep, as he is often in his playful & "wanna carry" mode. Unless he's really tired, else it will take some time before he falls sound asleep. Other than that, he'll be whining when no one is paying attention to him (he's a social baby, doesn't like to lie alone in his cot..haa..). When he's awake, he likes to glance around him & look at his surrounding. That's when I'll speak to him and tell him what's happening around him, at times singing and humming him some songs (he's seemingly disinterested in my singing at times.. think i need more k sessions! ;p) One more week before Ayden turns one month old... & I can't wait to see him grow bigger & start playing and responding to us! We're all waiting to see his 1st social smile!

Daddy's "Prawn Noodle Theory"

You know...when it comes to food...feeding time... Little Ayden is one fiery baby...he's can't wait! When he's hungry..he's hungry...& he'll make it known to you..for sure.. By Ehh ehhh & ehhhh - ing till u buay tahan! Here's one episode of what happened one night..

Ayden started Eh-ing at 1am in the morn.. demanding his milk! Then Daddy started carrying him & calming him down.. here's what Daddy said " Hey son! You got to be patient! Hawker Center order Hokkien prawn noodle also must wait right?!? Must wait for them catch prawns right?!? Must wait for waiter serve you right?!? Huh?!? So be patient!" Response from Ayden?? " wah...WahH..WAHHHHHHHHH...." hahhaha... that's what you get from a hungrier & angrier baby! Ayden started crying even louder.. struggling to fight his anxiety in hubby's arms! After that, Daddy followed up " Ok ok... Hay Mee Lai Liao, Hay Mee Lai Liao! (Prawn noodle is here!).. don't cry don't cry! " Ayden's response again?? " WAHH WAHHH WAHHH WAHHHH!!!!" (hahahha.... That's why they say... a hungry baby, is an angry baby.. & Daddy is lecturing him about Hay Mee Theory somemore...)
Oh My God.... What's this "Hay Mee" theory all about?!? Think my cute hubby will teach Ayden only P.E (Physical Education) next time... I'll handle the core subjects... Hahahaa... ;p

Ayden is 2 weeks old!

Here's some updated pics of Ayden, when he's 2 weeks old. Now, most of the time he's awake... he's really not one sleepy baby, and seldom does he really fall sound asleep. Most of the time he's awake, wanting people to carry, wanting to play and making lots of sounds, plus flinging his arms & legs about in the air. At times, you really wonder how to keep him occupied and not cry; and at times when he's whining, you might not necessarily know what exactly it is that he wants!?!? Haa... after checking all the necessary i.e wet diapers, feeding time, temperature, burping him etc etc... I guess it's really left with trying all our ways to comforting him & calming him down again... & trust me..it's not easy!!!!! Nonetheless, he's one cute little active boy... & he's realli realli a cutie pie (when he's sound asleep!) haha....

Little Ayden's playtime

As Ayden grows a little bigger & older each day, he tends to stay awake more often in the daytime.. & so there's more playtime for him! Interaction with your little one is important, so I was trying to touch him & talk to him, singing him songs occassionally to get him to familiarise with my touch & my voice...Bonding! Sometimes, he'll also lie in his little cot and play by himself... of course, whining & making noise here & there when he gets bored. His little arms & legs will be flinging in the air and moving about when he plays.. an active little boy. Hopefully all these exercises will make his limbs strong and let him grow faster!

Ayden is 1 week old

Little Ayden is 1 week old! 7 days of growing, looking after him, learning tips on how to take care of him, boring confinement food, Ayden is finally 1 week old! Many many more weeks to come, and much more things to learn on how to care for Ayden. It's been quite a hectic week of adapting and coping, though not easy..I believe the effort is all worth it. Just hope for Ayden to grow up strong, healthy & happy! Happy 1 week old, Ayden boy! Muacks!

Labour!

After so many months of protecting little Ayden in my tummy... He's finally brought into this world. During my last Pre-natal check, gynae was saying that the amniotic fluid in my tummy is not enough for little ayden to grow full-term, thus was advised to induce labour to bring Ayden into this world 5 days earlier...& the date chosen was 05 Sept 2008 (Fri)! The last week before labour was a jittery one for me... waiting for any signal from Ayden anytime before the date of induction... but then...no news at all except for slight contractions on & off. Comes Thursday and I'm getting all nervous right from morning about admitting into Mt E after midnight that day. I'm sure my dear hubby was also on standby throughout the whole week.. he was even more excited than I am! The day was a memorable one for me though, cos hubby spent some private moments with me specially before Ayden was born. He KO earlier from work, then brought me for a movie at West Mall (watched the cute movie "Wall E"), then headed back home for dinner with the family. After dinner was a nice game of Wii Bowling (which I misses), then packing up & getting ready to set off for hospital. MIL and BIL were both excited too! Both of them were so nice to drive us to the hospital and of cos..how can we miss supper before this important event?? (I need all the energy for the 'pushing' that's coming) We went to Newton Circus after midnight, and I gulped down 1 big bowl of " Ba Chor Mee". Next, we headed for the big event...at Mt E Hospital.

After admission, I was sent straight to the delivery ward....where the arduous journey began. I was induced by 2am...and my waves of contractions started! From a smiley me (at pain scale of 1 -2).. I countered several tight waves of contractions for nearly 5 hrs before my pain scale upgraded to a 7-8. That was when my " Hee Hee Hoo" doesn't work anymore(no matter how loud or long I do it)! That was also the time when I succumbed and pleaded for Epithural! I can't take it anymore! After that injection (I tell you..) comes heaven... Contractions carry on, wave after wave... BUT... NO PAIN at all!!! Woo Hoo!!! I was a happy girl once more... I can even sing, joke and smile to my hubby, who was anxiously accompanying me & supporting me by my side! Of cos... coming to this... KUDOS to my dear hubby, he's been really nice, staying by my side all the way, supporting me every minute of the labour process, holding my hand, stroking my forehead, encouraging me to go on... & of cos... asking me to PUSH!!!! All these will not be possible without him by my side.. Thanks dear!

Next.... after the injection, was numbness, I can't feel my legs, can't feel my muscles, not to say find energy to push. When I was told to push...I just exert whatever I have in me (who knows which muscles I was exerting anyway)..Finally, at 3.28pm on 05 Sept 08, Little Ayden came out to meet the world, with the help of my gynae & his formidable forceps! Weighing 3.170kg, measuring 51cm long....Our little precious has arrived!!! Haa... It's the 1st time I saw his bloody, but angelic face... & of cos hear his miraculous greetings to us! How wonderful the whole journey has been.. Of cos, this leads to the beginning of another wonderful journey, with our new addition, Ayden Goh.

Sneak previews

Here's some sneak previews of Ayden boy, when he's in my tummy... He's been a rather active boy inside my tummy before he was born, mainly to blame my bad habits of sleeping late at night, waking in the middle of the night to makan, shouting at my boys in class, going out jalan even though I'm carrying a few extra kilos with me..... Now, hopefully, what I've heard is not that true, and that when Ayden boy comes out, he'll not remain active during the times I was active when I was carrying him, because...that will be like... most of the time I was awake during my pregnancy! Haa... but anyway, too late for regrets now. Looking back at these pre-natal scans, I do miss my pregnancy period... for the care and concern showered to me by people around me (of cos they still do now... ;P), for special privileges I get on public transport, for the caution people throw at you while you squeeze pass them along Orchard rd... especially the feeling of carrying your dear child safely inside you, feeling his every movement and action every now and then. It's a feeling one has to go through personally to feel it.. & I really find it unforgettable! Jia you to those mummies who are still carrying your little precious inside you... enjoy the moments with them! :)
